Josefina L. Valdez, Esq.

Josefina L. Valdez is a highly accomplished attorney with approximately ten years of legal experience. She began her career dedicated to helping underprivileged and underserved individuals as a staff attorney and later as the Executive Director of a local non-profit legal services organization. Her background as a legal services attorney gives clients a unique advantage because Josefina had to learn a wide array of practice areas and is able to apply that expertise to each case she works on. Additionally, she learned how to provide quality representation while maintaining a large case load.

Possessing a warm and calming demeanor, Josefina Valdez’s true calling lies in representing needful clients and their families. She prides herself in being a zealous advocate for those who have been wronged. Josefina likes to be accessible to her clients and is willing to go to bat so that clients feel comfortable and prepared for an often complex and confusing justice system.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Josefina attended the University of California, Berkeley where she majored in Political Science, and minored in both Public Policy and Ethnic Studies. Between undergrad and law school, Josefina worked as a Fellow in Washington D.C. at AIDS Action, where she conducted various analyses on health policies, as well as, educated Congress members on the community impact of federal legislation. She continued her education at Fordham University School of Law in New York City, where she excelled as a member of the Brendan Moore Trial Advocacy Team and Securities Arbitration Clinic.

Outside of work, Josefina loves to travel both domestically and internationally, loves reading John Grisham novels and loves to explore painting abstractly. Josefina has always been active in the community and serves as the Board President of two local non profit organizations: Libreria Del Pueblo, an immigration services non-profit and Cedar House, a recovery services organization.
